Islamabad, June 23, 2025: The Islamic month of Muharram is anticipated to commence in Pakistan on Friday, June 27, based on lunar visibility predictions, indicating that Ashura (10th Muharram) will probably fall on Sunday, July 6.
As per custom, national holidays in Pakistan are marked on the 9th and 10th of Muharram. Yet, this year both dates coincide with the weekend — Saturday and Sunday — meaning that government employees are unlikely to benefit from extra days off.
