Islamabad, June 23, 2025: Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan are expected to go up from the start of next month. The increase is mainly due to a rise in international oil prices, caused by the ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran.
As per early estimates, petrol may become costlier by around Rs21.50 per litre, while diesel could rise by nearly Rs27.30 per litre.
In the international market, fuel prices have gone up sharply in the past few days:
- Gas oil has increased by 16.3%, reaching $91.9 per barrel.
- Gasoline is now up by 11%, at $82.3 per barrel.
- Brent crude oil has risen by 12.4%, now standing at $76.9 per barrel.

If these changes are approved, they are likely to affect everyday life. Transport costs may go up, and prices of essential items could also rise as a result of higher fuel rates.
