Islamabad, June 24, 2025: Al Ahly and Porto played out a stunning 4-4 draw in their Porto Vs Al Ahly last Club World Cup match on Monday, but both teams bowed out as Inter Miami and Palmeiras advanced to the round of 16 from Group A following their 2-2 draw.
Palestinian forward Wessam Abou Ali netted a hat-trick while Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane also scored for the Egyptian side, yet Porto answered every time they took the lead.
Youngsters Rodrigo Mora and William Gomes, substitute Samu Aghehowa, and veteran Pepe all found the net for the Portuguese as both sides pushed forward, neglecting defense in search of crucial goals to keep their hopes alive.
Ultimately, the Porto Vs Al Ahly draw didn’t benefit either side, as the tie in Miami nullified all other outcomes. “I’m really heartbroken, truly disappointed,” said Abou Ali. “We probably could’ve scored five or six goals — the chances were there to at least win.”

Played in grueling heat at Metlife Stadium, both teams entered without a single open-play goal in the tournament — but made up for it with an action-packed contest.
Abou Ali struck in the 15th minute with a composed finish, before 18-year-old Mora replied eight minutes later. Zizo won a penalty before halftime, and Abou Ali converted to restore Al Ahly’s lead.

Three rapid goals after the restart tied things at 3-3. Abou Ali completed his hat-trick, but Aghehowa equalized moments later. Ben Romdhane scored again, but Pepe’s late goal sealed the thrilling draw.
“It didn’t feel like proper football in the second half,” said Al Ahly boss Jose Riveiro. “Great for spectators, but not the result we wanted.”
