Islamabad, June 28, 2025: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced that the national hockey team will take part in the upcoming Hockey Asia Cup.

PHF Secretary Rana Mujahid confirmed Pakistan’s decision to participate in the event while speaking to reporters. The competition is scheduled to take place in India from August 27 to September 7. However, PHF has yet to give any confirmation on whether a hybrid setup will be utilised or the team will travel directly to India.

Given the strained diplomatic ties between Pakistan and India, questions regarding the practical implementation of the still persists.

The Asia Cup presents a golden opportunity for Pakistan, whose hockey squad has been struggling with financial issues and limited global exposure in recent times. Participation in the Asia Cup could play a key role in restoring Pakistan’s reputation in the sport.
