Islamabad, June 28, 2025: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that all banks across the country will remain close for public dealing on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in observance of the annual bank holiday marking the start of the new fiscal year.

According to a statement issued by the central bank, the holiday applies to all banks, development finance institutions (DFIs), and microfinance banks (MFBs), which will suspend public dealings for the day.

“The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed for customer transactions on 1st July, 2025 (Tuesday), which will be observed as a bank holiday.

“All banks / DFIs / MFBs shall, therefore, be closed for public transactions on the stated date. However, the staff of the banks / DFIs / MFBs will report to duty as per routine,” the announcement stated.

However, employees of the banks/development finance institutions/microfinance banks will attend the office as per the normal routine. Public and private banks/DFIs/MFBs will resume public dealing on Wednesday, July 02, 2025.

“This closure is part of the routine procedure to ensure the smooth closing of books and proper financial reconciliation,” the SBP stated.
