Islamabad, June 30, 2025: Paris Saint-Germain crushed their former player Lionel Messi’s current side Inter Miami 4-0 in the PSG Vs Miami Club World Cup Round of 16, with Joao Neves netting twice in a dominant display.
An own goal from Miami and a finish by Achraf Hakimi extended PSG’s lead to four before halftime at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday. The reigning European titleholders are now set to play the Bayern Munich in Saturday’s quarterfinal.
Inter Miami goalkeeper Oscar Ustari made six stops, while PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma faced minimal pressure, needing to block just three shots, as Miami failed to register any attempts until the 51st minute. The match marked Messi’s first clash against his former club since his departure to the U.S. two years ago.
Desire Doue earned PSG a set-piece just outside the area within the opening five minutes. Vitinha delivered the ball to Neves, who guided a header past Ustari into the net.
