Islamabad, July 1, 2025: The iconic Durrani & Company in F-6 Super Market closed its doors for good, ending nearly 50 years of touching countless lives in Islamabad. Founded by Nadeem Durrani in 1975 after his father’s dismissal, it grew from humble necessity into a beloved cultural landmark.
But with the plaza set to be demolished, Mr. Durrani chose not to relocate, opting instead for a graceful farewell. Last night, heartbroken customers lit candles, shared stories, and thanked him for shaping their journeys.
A video shared online captured the moment. It showed the glow of candles and the sadness in people’s faces . The scene spoke of respect and love for a place that had been part of the community for five decades.
The closure brings deep emotion. People remember buying their first pens there. They remember searching its shelves for special paper. They remember quiet chats with the staff. These memories made the shop a part of their lives.
