Islamabad, July 2, 2025: The summer 2025 blockbuster wave has officially begun. Following the initial releases of Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning, F1: The Movie, and Thunderbolts, the season is truly expected to gain momentum as Jurassic World Rebirth lands in cinemas midweek.
This is the seventh entry in the Jurassic World franchise. Rebirth is already getting varied reactions from early reviewers. Still, considering the typical critical feedback for the franchise, having a 50/50 shot at being well-received isn’t the worst outlook. The big question remains: how much revenue will it generate?
According to estimations by Deadline, Jurassic World Rebirth could enjoy a significant Independence Day launch, potentially collecting around $260 million thanks to its debut in several international markets. If that figure holds, it may come close to topping this year’s biggest opening weekend. As of now, A Minecraft Movie claims that title with a $313.2 million opening on April 4.

Aside from F1: The Movie, Scarlett Johansson’s Jurassic World Rebirth doesn’t face major competition during the extended holiday stretch. However, the landscape shifts next week as Superman starts limited screenings on July 8 before a wide release on July 12.

July is shaping up to be a fascinating month for cinema. While F1, Jurassic World Rebirth, and Superman battle it out in the early weeks, the month closes with Marvel’s next high-stakes release, The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
From a viewer’s perspective, each of these titles promises something exciting. Still, which film emerges as the season’s biggest success is a question only the end of summer will answer.
