Islamabad, July 2, 2025: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has strongly rejected online rumors suggesting that Rs. 110 million was spent on serving biscuits to guests at the Chief Minister’s House.

In a recent discussion held at the CM House in Peshawar with members of PTI’s social media team, Gandapur cleared the air regarding the viral claim. He instructed the team to highlight the provincial government’s work and counter false narratives spread by opponents.

Speaking on the matter, the Chief Minister clarified that the amount being shared on social media is actually the complete annual operating cost of the CM House — not an expense for refreshments. He added that the majority of this budget goes towards meals provided to Class-IV staff working at the residence.

He noted that previously, these lower-grade workers were required to manage food expenses themselves. The government now bears these costs as part of their welfare.

Gandapur also drew comparisons with other provinces, stating that Punjab and Sindh allocate far larger amounts — Rs. 2 billion and Rs. 1 billion respectively — for their Chief Ministers’ residences. He made it clear that not a single rupee from the KP budget is used for his personal needs.

He also responded to other accusations, including rumors of holding secret meetings and using a government helicopter during the Swat River tragedy. Gandapur confirmed he has assigned the official helicopter for public relief and not for personal use.

No proof has surfaced to support the biscuit-related expenditure claim.
