Marvel’s show Ironheart has finally shown one of its most talked-about villains, Mephisto. Fans have been guessing about his appearance for years. In the last episode of the Disney+ series, Mephisto was revealed. This confirmed the rumors about actor Sacha Baron Cohen playing the role.
Dominique Thorne, who plays the lead role of Riri Williams, shared that even the cast didn’t know about this secret. She told TheWrap, “The name in the script kept changing. I didn’t know it was Mephisto until we filmed the last scene. I was sitting right in front of Sacha Baron Cohen when he said it.”
Earlier, many fans believed Parker Robbins’ magic came from Dormammu, the villain from Doctor Strange. But the final episode surprised everyone by showing Mephisto as the real power behind the magic. Thorne said makers fans anticipation for Mephisto and wanted to make his entry special.

Riri Williams makes a deal with Mephisto in the ending scene of Ironheart, to bring back her best friend, Natalie. She agrees because of her deep sadness. After the deal, Riri’s body shows dark magical marks, similar to the ones on Parker Robbins. This hints that trouble is coming for her.

When asked if this meant Riri was turning evil, Thorne carefully said, “We might need to keep an eye on her.” She explained that her character’s choice came from grief and pain.
Thorne also said she would like to show a darker side of Riri. However, she reminded viewers that Ironheart also stands for hope and strength, especially for young fans.
