Islamabad, July 3, 2025: The Islamabad City App has significantly boosted digital governance, enabling the Excise and Taxation Department of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) to collect Rs15.5 billion in taxes. This update was shared during a digital economy review chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Downloaded over 1.3 million times, the app currently offers 15 essential public services, ranging from vehicle registration to tax payments. Officials credited this surge in usage to the app’s user-friendly interface and the public’s growing trust in digital solutions.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need for increased public awareness and wider adoption of digital payment tools to enhance transparency and simplify governance.
