Islamabad, July 7, 2025: The Sindh government has officially notified the minimum wage for 2025, setting the monthly salary at Rs. 40,000 for unskilled workers. This move aims to support laborers amid rising inflation and economic pressure.
As per the notification, semi-skilled workers will now earn Rs. 41,280, while skilled laborers will receive Rs. 48,910 per month. The highest minimum wage, Rs. 50,868, has been reserved for highly skilled workers across the province.
According to Rafiq Qureshi, Secretary of the Minimum Wage Board, the increase follows the guidelines of the Sindh Minimum Wages Act, 2015. He added that any suggestions or objections to the new rates can be submitted to the board within 14 days. The revised wages came into effect from July 1, 2025, and reflect an 8.1% hike compared to the previous rates. The minimum hourly wage has been set at Rs. 192.
The updated wage policy applies to all businesses, whether registered or unregistered, ensuring uniform implementation across sectors.

Sindh Labour Minister Shahid Thahim reaffirmed the government’s stance on equal pay for female workers and issued a clear warning: any violation of the policy will lead to strict legal action. He emphasized the government’s commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of workers while promoting a fair and just labor system.
