Islamabad, July 7, 2025: Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has directed authorities to fast-track preparations for the launch of the Prime Minister’s Fan Replacement Program, aiming to roll out the first phase by the end of this month.
Chairing a high-level meeting, the finance minister stressed completing all key actions within two to three weeks. The initiative, designed to promote energy efficiency and financial inclusion, will initially be supported by selected participating banks.
Key stakeholders, including the National Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority (NEECA), updated the forum on agreements with banks, system integrations, and technical facilitation provided by the Punjab Technology Investment Board and Power Information Technology Company.
Aurangzeb emphasized that the fan replacement scheme is not just about energy-saving appliances but also about changing consumer behavior and supporting economic stability.

The meeting saw participation from Minister for Power Sardar Awais Leghari, the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, Chairman of the Pakistan Banks’ Association, and senior officials from the Finance and Power Divisions.
The government plans to launch the scheme with an easy financing model, allowing consumers to replace old fans with energy-efficient models—reducing electricity bills and supporting sustainable development.
