Islamabad, July 8, 2025: China has expanded its visa-free entry rule, now allowing people from 74 countries to visit for up to 30 days without needing a visa.

This new step has already caused a big rise in foreign visitors, as over 20 million people entered China without visas in 2024—more than twice as many as last year.

The updated list now covers most of Europe, some Latin American nations, parts of Asia, and Oceania.

Recent countries added include France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, and a few Middle Eastern nations. The policy will grow to 75 countries on July 16, 2025, with Azerbaijan joining the list.

Is Pakistan on the List?

Even with China’s close trade and diplomatic ties, Pakistan is not among the countries whose citizens can visit China without a visa. Many African and South Asian countries are also not part of the visa-free list.

This short-term transit rule mostly applies to travelers from countries like the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Russia, and a few others.
