Islamabad, July 8, 2025: Turkish Airlines will expand its flight operations to Pakistan starting from October 27, 2025, according to a report by 24NewsHD TV on Tuesday.
As part of this growth, the airline will increase the number of weekly flights to both Islamabad and Lahore.
The flights between Istanbul and Lahore will increase from 11 to 14 per week, while the number of flights to Islamabad will grow from 10 to 14 per week. The airline intends to operate Airbus A300 planes on these routes.

This move comes after an earlier incident on July 7, 2025, when a Turkish Airlines flight had to perform an emergency landing at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport due to a mechanical problem. The plane, which was heading to Istanbul, returned shortly after takeoff after a fault was identified.

Sources at the airport mentioned that the pilot quickly contacted air traffic control and sought approval to return. Permission was granted without delay, and the aircraft landed safely. Following the emergency landing, the plane was shifted to a secure parking area for inspection by technical experts.
