Islamabad, July 10, 2025: Pakistani model and actress Humaira Asghar Ali is suspected to have passed away around nine months ago, in October 2024, according to digital records and forensic analysis, investigators informed Arab News on Thursday. Her decomposed remains were recently recovered from her apartment in Karachi.
Ali’s body was discovered at her residence in the Ittehad Commercial locality when a court official arrived on Tuesday to evict her from the rented flat after the landlord’s complaint. Police stated that the bailiff forced the door open and found her lifeless inside.
Earlier, Karachi Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed, who carried out the autopsy, said the body’s “very advanced stage of decomposition” indicated that she likely died about a month ago.
However, after further inquiries into Ali’s mobile data, social media history, and statements from neighbors revealed no evidence of her being alive after October 2024. Her last Facebook update was on September 11, 2024, while her final Instagram post was on September 30, 2024. Residents interviewed by authorities and reporters stated they had not seen her since September or October last year.

Two officials familiar with the investigation, speaking anonymously, said Ali likely died around October 2024. “She probably died between paying her last utility bills and when her electricity was disconnected in October 2024, probably due to non-payment of the bill,” one official noted.
Another investigator said decayed food items and rusted kitchen utensils supported this timeline. “The jars had rusted, and food had expired six months ago,” the official explained.
Her family has reportedly refused to claim her body, with reasons unknown.
Humaira Asghar famous dramas include Just Married, Ehsaan Faramosh, Guru, and Chal Dil Mere, often playing supporting roles. In cinema, she appeared in the 2015 action-thriller Jalaibee, and later in Love Vaccine (2021), alongside well-known names in Pakistani entertainment.
