Islamabad, July 11, 2025: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has given approval to start the second phase of the scheme under which farmers will receive loans amounting to Rs100 billion through 628,000 Kisan Cards.
A session chaired by the CM on Thursday examined the 500 mini-dam and 250 water storage projects in the Pothohar area under the Agriculture Transformation Programme.
During the session, it was announced that the government would offer interest-free loans worth Rs100bn under Phase-II of the Kisan Card initiative.
A detailed presentation was also delivered regarding the Green Tractor, Model Agriculture, Tubewell Solarisation, Wheat Programme, Super Seeder, Citrus, Pothohar and Agri-Transformation schemes, and other matters.

The CM asked for a proposed plan to provide farming supplies to wheat farmers at discounted prices. She assured that wheat farmers would not be ignored and a new project would be introduced before the harvesting season.

The meeting also discussed suggestions for advance subsidies to ease the production expenses of wheat.
“Farmers owning up to 25 acres of land will be able to get diesel, fertiliser, seeds and agricultural chemicals through the Kisan Card. The processing fee of Rs1,000 has also been abolished for the Phase-II project and registration of 4,200 agricultural suppliers has also been completed,” the participants were informed.
