Islamabad, July 11, 2025: A three-member team from the United Kingdom’s Department for Transport (DfT) finished a detailed security inspection at Islamabad International Airport, declaring Pakistan’s aviation safety measures as “satisfactory” and in line with global standards, according to a spokesperson from the Airport Security Force (ASF).
The UK officials arrived on July 8 for a three-day visit and were joined by a member of the British High Commission. Their visit began with an opening meeting attended by the airport’s Chief Security Officer along with important representatives from related departments.
Those present at the briefing included members from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA), ASF, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), British Airways, Air Blue, catering providers like Kitchen Cuisine, Ras Menzies, and others linked to airport activities.

The inspection covered various security aspects such as staff deployment, internal monitoring, passenger checks, issuance of entry cards, checking of vehicles and staff, surveillance systems, boundary security, quick response teams, anti-drone actions, and emergency plans. The UK team also reviewed inflight catering and flight services.

After the inspection, the inspectors appreciated the ASF’s efforts to protect air passengers.
In addition, a Saudi Arabian delegation is set to begin a security check at seven main airports in Pakistan, starting in August. Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Multan airports are included in list.
