Islamabad, July 12, 2025:  A major rise in sugar rates has been observed all over the country, with the prices going above Rs. 200 per kg in a few cities for the very first time.

As per the newest figures shared by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the usual price of sugar in the country has gone up to Rs. 188.44 per kg.

According to the numbers, the regular sugar rate went up by Rs. 3.52 per kg. “Last week, this price was Rs. 184.92 per kg.”

As stated by PBS, in big cities like Karachi, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi, the sugar price has reached “as high as Rs. 200 per kg.”

Looking at the data closely shows that sugar prices have climbed not just in the past week but also over the year. One year back, the normal price of sugar was Rs. 145.88 per kg, showing an increase of Rs. 42.56 in present time.
