Islamabad, July 15, 2025: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed the swift completion of major road infrastructure projects in Karachi, setting July 25 as the deadline for the opening of the 22km link road connecting M-9 Motorway with the National Highway (N-5).
In a high-level review meeting at CM House, Shah emphasized the strategic role of this Karachi link road in easing cargo transport from Port Qasim to national routes. Developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, the Rs. 3.53 billion project involves collaboration with the FWO and NHA and is progressing in three phases.
The new interchange is scheduled for completion by the end of October, after which the old route will be shut down.

Providing updates on the Shahrah-e-Bhutto Expressway, officials reported 82% completion. The Quaidabad segment nears finalization, the Kathore stretch is at 65%, while 48% progress has been made on the elevated Samo Goth section. Work on the Kathore interchange is also in progress.

The Korangi Causeway Bridge, a Rs. 6.1 billion initiative to streamline connectivity, has achieved 80% progress and is expected to open by November. Tendering for its connecting junction is underway.
CM Murad Ali Shah reiterated the urgent need for timely project delivery to cut congestion and unlock economic growth through enhanced urban connectivity.
