Islamabad, July 16, 2025: The federal government has announced a fresh hike in petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan, effective from July 16, 2025. As per the latest notification, petrol price has been increased by Rs5.36 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) now costs Rs11.37 more per litre.
After the revision, the new petrol price stands at Rs272.15 per litre, and diesel price has reached Rs284.35 per litre. This revision will remain applicable for the next 15 days.
Meanwhile, the price of kerosene oil has been reduced by Rs3.10 per litre, offering a slight relief to consumers using alternate fuels.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) prepared the pricing proposal based on inputs from oil marketing companies and international market trends. The final decision was taken by the Ministry of Finance after consulting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Earlier this month, on July 1, 2025, petrol was priced at Rs266.79 and diesel at Rs272.98. The expected increase was already under discussion, with projections suggesting petrol could cross Rs273 per litre and diesel nearing Rs278.

The government continues to adjust fuel rates every fortnight, balancing global oil prices and local economic pressure. While OGRA provides a technical estimate, the government reserves the right to absorb or pass on the impact to the public.
