Islamabad, July 16, 2025: When news came out that the United Kingdom had removed its ban on Pakistani airlines, many journalists and social media users quickly posted the update—but some mistakenly used an old PIA photo.
An old advertising picture, first shared by Pakistan International Airlines, is being shared again with the latest headlines about the UK’s Air Safety List changes.

The picture is being shared again on social media sites. Well-known journalists like Shama Junejo, Hamza Azhar Salam, and Murtaza Ali Shah posted the image with the recent news, making it seem like the photo is new or officially related to the latest update.

That old photo was originally used by PIA in July 2020, when the airline had announced it would start flights again to three UK cities.

Reusing this old image can mislead people and mix up past and current news. Sharing a picture from 2020 instead of a recent one may confuse the public about PIA’s current operations and the actual steps taken since the flight ban began.
