Islamabad, July 17, 2025: Warner Bros and HBO begin production on upcoming Harry Potter TV series, revealing first look ahead of its 2027 premiere.
The trio of young actors playing Harry, Ron and Hermione was confirmed in May although full details remain veiled. Production is officially on the way on HBO’s highly anticipated television adaptation of Harry Potter. The first image of the young lead actor in costume released this week.
Dominic McLaughlin aged 11, has been unveiled as the new face of Harry Potter, stepping into the iconic role for a series expected to span a decade. The show promises to be a faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s beloved novels.

Alongside McLaughlin, several key cast members were also announced. Rory Wilmot will play Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson is cast as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey will portray Madam Rolanda Hooch. Anton Lesser takes on the role of Garrick Ollivander. They join a high profile ensemble including John Lithgow as Professor Albus Dumbledore, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. Janet McTeer will be there as Professor Minerva McGonagall and Paapa Essiedu as Professor Severus Snape.

Behind the scenes, the series major production talent includes The Crown alumni like director of photography Adriano Goldman and hair and makeup designer Cate Hall. The first season of the Harry Potter TV series is set to debut in 2027 on HBO.
