Nakhon Phanom, July 18, 2025: Pakistan Under-16 volleyball squad achieved a huge victory over archrivals India in the semifinals of the 2nd Asian Men’ U-16 Volleyball Championship, taking place in Nakhon Phanom, Thailand, on Friday.
The team secured a resounding victory with a clean sweep, securing three consecutive sets with scores of 25-16, 25-19 and 25-12.

From the outset, Pakistan dominated the match. The young athletes displayed outstanding skills and good teamwork. Muhammad Junaid was instrumental by amassing 19 points, including 11 from powerful attacks.
Similarly, Faizan Ullah added 12 points, while Talha Mehar and Irfan each added seven points.
The Pakistan Volleyball Association posted on image-sharing social media platform, Instagram. “Team Pakistan U-16 Men’s Volleyball continues its dream run at the championship by defeating arch-rivals India in the semi-final”, the post read.
India struggled in establishing its rhythm, managing a paltry 47 points across all three sets. Pakistan’s defensive tactics effectively curtailed the archrival’s scoring chances, maintaining control throughout the match.
Earlier in the tournament, the boys defeated South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Chinese Taipei during the group stage. They then advanced to the semi-finals following a straight-set victory over Indonesia in the quarter-finals, with set scores of 25-23, 25-20, and 25-20.

The semi-final win against India not only propelled Pakistan into the finals but also secured their spot in the upcoming FIVB U-17 World Championship.
The team is set to face defending champions, Iran, in the final on July 19.
