Birmingham, July 19, 2025: The second match of the World Championship of Legends 2025 is in progress at Edgbaston, Birmingham, with South Africa facing a revised target of 80 runs set by West Indies from 11 overs, following a rain-affected match.   

West Indies put up a target of 79 at a loss of five wickets in their allotted 11 overs. A strong innings from the West Indies opener Lendle Simmons (scoring 28 off 21 balls) helped set the stage.

Chadwick Walton took up the challenge, as well, as he contributed 27 not out.

South Africa’s bowling attack found breakthroughs through disciplined spells, with two bowlers accounting for several wickets and controlling the run rate effectively.

South African then began their run chase with early losses, including wickets to pace bowlers exploiting their conditions. Experienced players, Hashim Amla and Sarel Erwee, are currently at the crease, looking to rebuild the innings and keep the required run rate manageable.

With over 80 runs needed from 11 overs, the South Africans face an uphill battle to chase the target in a condensed format. It demands aggression and smart gameplay.
