Islamabad, July 20, 2025: The Government of Sindh has officially launched the second phase of the People’s IT Program, a transformative digital training initiative aimed at empowering the province’s youth with in-demand tech skills.
The program, which is now backed by a Rs1.4 billion budget, is set to provide free IT education to 35,000 students across 12 high-demand digital sectors.
Announcing the launch on Sunday, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon described the project as a milestone in the province’s journey toward a tech-driven economy. “The People’s IT Program has become a model for digital inclusion and capacity building. It aims to connect Sindh’s youth to the global digital economy,” he stated.
During the program’s first phase, more than 13,500 students were trained in modern IT fields. In recognition of their excellence, 300 top-performing students received Google Chromebooks and laptops.
This second phase builds on the success by expanding both the scale and scope of the training. It offers free-of-cost, industry-aligned IT courses for youth from non-ICT backgrounds, helping bridge the gap between traditional education and modern job market needs.
Memon emphasized the government’s vision to enhance employability through digital literacy. “This is part of Sindh’s broader educational reform agenda and reflects our record-breaking investment in higher education,” he added.
