Islamabad, July 22, 2025: The Pakistan Army helicopter rescue operation to save stranded tourists and travelers is successfully underway, amid heavy flooding in Babusar and on the Karakoram Highway.

Army helicopters moved people from dangerous areas to safe places. A total of 15 flights were made to bring the affected individuals to safety.

Teams from the Pakistan Army and Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts also reached the flood-hit zones with food and other basic supplies. Medical care is being provided to injured citizens.

Moreover, efforts to clear the roads are in full swing. Workers and machines are busy removing debris from Babusar and the Karakoram Highway to restore travel. Search and rescue teams are also on the ground to find anyone still missing.

In addition, the Army also carried out a rescue operation on Skardu-Deosai Road which was blocked by landslides. With nonstop work overnight, Army engineers used heavy machines to reopen the road from Skardu to Sadpara Mountaineering School and from Deosai to Sadpara village.

All trapped people and vehicles were safely moved, and traffic is now running without problems. Army troops are still present in the area to deal with any new danger quickly.

Pakistan army timely efforts showed true professionalism and the quick actions by the army and rescue teams helped save many lives. Tourists and locals have showed gratitude to the army for their strong efforts during this crisis.
