Islamabad, July 24, 2025: Mega Dragonite officially revealed in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, bringing back Mega Evolutions with a fresh design and a new wild evolution.
In a big reveal during the Pokémon Presents event on July 22, 2025, fans were excited to see that Mega Dragonite is officially returning in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This is the first Mega Evolution shown for the upcoming game and it confirms that the popular feature is making a comeback.
The new Mega Dragonite looks different from before. It now has features inspired by Dragonair, like elegant wings on its head and a smoother, more feathery appearance. It is still a Dragon/Flying-type, but looks faster and stronger in the air.

Therefore, significant change in Z-A is the idea of Rogue Mega Evolutions. In this game, some wild Pokémon can Mega Evolve on their own, without a trainer. Mega Dragonite is one of them. These wild Mega Pokémon will appear in different areas of Lumiose City and act like mini-bosses, adding a new challenge to the game.
Mega Evolutions were first seen in Generation 6 and fans have missed them in recent titles. Now, they are back and sources suggest there could be as many as 27 Mega Evolutions in Z-A. Some fans are even hoping for completely new forms or types.

Reactions from fans online have been very positive. Many are excited to see what other Mega Evolutions will be revealed. Some even shared their own ideas—like Dragonite becoming a Dragon/Fairy or Dragon/Fighting-type in different versions.
However, only Mega Dragonite has been confirmed, but it is a strong sign that Pokémon Legends: Z-A will offer something both new and familiar. Fans can look forward to more powerful evolutions and new surprises as the game gets closer to release.
