The Asia Cup 2025 is set to begin in the United Arab Emirates on September 9, with a high-stakes encounter between arch-rivals India and Pakistan scheduled for September 14. The tournament will be hosted totally in the UAE and India has officially declared its participation agreeing to play in the Asia Cup hosted by three nations, although political tensions have often stopped them from playing matches against certain countries.

This year chapter features eight teams, divided into two groups. Group A includes India, Pakistan, Oman and host UAE while Group B consists of Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. The opening match of the tournament will initiate with a match between Bangladesh and Hong Kong.
The competition layout includes a first round of group stage games, with the top two teams from each group advancing to a second stage four-team group. Each of those teams will play one another once, and the top two from that group will move on to the grand final, scheduled for September 28.
