Islamabad, July 30, 2025: The Italy Golden Visa is quickly becoming a top-tier mobility option for Pakistan high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), offering access to Europe’s Schengen zone without the traditional demands of relocation or global taxation.
With an entry investment of just €250,000, the Golden Visa provides a fast-track residency route, allowing investors and their families to live, work, and travel freely across 26 Schengen countries. The program’s flexible structure and light-touch tax policies are driving its popularity—especially as an alternative to rigid U.S. immigration pathways.
Investment Pathways Available
Applicants can choose from several options under this program:
- €2 million in Italian state bonds
- €500,000 in an Italian firm (or €250,000 in an innovative startup)
- €1 million donation toward public interest projects—such as scientific research, education, or cultural development
Alternatively, the Elective Residence Program is ideal for individuals with steady passive income, such as pensioners or remote professionals.
Quick Approvals and Relaxed Conditions
Unlike other residency offerings, Italy’s process is relatively fast. Following financial checks, approvals may be granted within 7 to 14 days. The visa is issued for two years initially, extendable for three more. Permanent residency is possible after five years, and citizenship eligibility opens up after a decade.
Notably, Italy doesn’t obligate investors to relocate or declare global income unless they choose to become full-time residents. “Italy only taxes you locally unless you settle permanently,” explains global mobility expert Andri Boiko.

Family Members Included Without Extra Cost
The application can cover spouses, children and financially dependent parents—all under the same investment amount. No additional capital is required for family inclusion.
With increasing uncertainty around visa pathways, the Italy Golden Visa is emerging as a strategic alternative for wealthy Pakistanis. It offers European access, mobility benefits and future citizenship — without the burden of immediate relocation.
