Islamabad, Aug 2, 2025: In a strong initiative to protect public health, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration has launched a high-tech laboratory aimed at stopping the sale of donkey meat under the disguise of halal meat.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority has set up a modern facility that can verify the type and quality of meat in just a few seconds. The lab conducts scientific examinations of food items to confirm their safety and adherence to halal principles.
Functioning under the Food Safety Authority, the lab inspects samples of dairy, drinking water, seasonings, juices and most importantly various meats, accurately identifying whether the meat belongs to a donkey, cow or buffalo.
