Islamabad, Aug 4, 2025: In a strategic move to boost local employment, the Oman Labour Ministry has rolled out 600 new job opportunities in Dhofar, reinforcing the country’s commitment to Omanisation and youth empowerment in the private sector.
This major employment initiative follows an official visit by H.E. Dr. Mahad bin Said Ba’awin, Minister of Labour, to key private companies operating in the Dhofar region. The aim is to create strong partnerships between public and private institutions to secure long-term career pathways for Omani nationals.
Out of the 600 positions, 150 jobs will be generated at the Port of Salalah by the end of 2025. Meanwhile, Nama Dhofar Services and its affiliated companies will offer 450 new roles as part of this employment expansion plan.
During the minister’s tour, participants of the Tamkeen programme at the Port of Salalah received recognition certificates. This initiative is geared toward preparing Omani youth with essential skills to thrive in the job market.
At Nama Dhofar Services, the delegation evaluated high-tech operational systems at the control centre and observed progress under the Leadership Formation Programme, which focuses on grooming future Omani leaders.
In support of this vision, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Directorate General of Labour in Dhofar and Nama Dhofar Services, aiming to enhance training and employment mechanisms in the region.
Nasser bin Salem Al Hadhrami, Director General of Labour in Dhofar, emphasized that this step aligns with national priorities to strengthen local workforce resilience and prepare the younger generation for the demands of the evolving labour market.
