Islamabad, Aug 4, 2025: Manchester United clinched the Premier League Summer Series title in Atlanta after a spirited Man United vs Everton clash ended in a 2-2 draw. Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount secured the necessary result for the Reds to finish at the summit of the mini-tournament standings, following earlier victories over West Ham and Bournemouth.
The match saw Bryan Mbeumo make his first appearance since switching from Brentford, featuring in the starting eleven alongside Fernandes and Matheus Cunha. The trio linked up well early on, with Cunha narrowly missing the target after a slick move. Everton threatened when James Garner’s long-range free-kick was saved, and Jake O’Brien hit the post from the follow-up.
United opened the scoring through a penalty, calmly slotted home by Fernandes after Amad was fouled inside the box. Mbeumo impressed in his debut, testing Jordan Pickford with a set-piece and having a couple of efforts blocked before Everton equalized just before halftime through Iliman Ndiaye.

At the break, Mbeumo was subbed off for Patrick Dorgu, as manager Ruben Amorim eased the new signing into action. Mount restored United’s advantage in the 69th minute with a clever turn and finish after receiving a pass from Fernandes
. However, Everton drew level again in a fortunate sequence that saw a deflection off Ayden Heaven wrong-foot United’s defense.
In the final moments, Dorgu had a golden opportunity to win it after a perfect through ball from Mount, but his shot drifted wide, drawing visible frustration from Rasmus Hojlund.
Though the Man United vs Everton match didn’t end in victory, United wrapped up their U.S. pre-season tour on a high and now look ahead to their next test against Fiorentina before facing Arsenal in their Premier League opener.
