Islamabad 5 August: Early this morning, heightened aerial activity was reported along the Line of Control (LoC) as Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft conducted maneuvers near the de facto border in the disputed Kashmir region.

According to sources, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) responded promptly, with fighter jets airborne within minutes, maintaining full situational dominance over the sector.

Posts on X reported intense aerial movements, with one source noting that a formation of over 18 Indian aircraft was detected, prompting an immediate PAF response. The PAF diverted combat air patrols (CAP) to potential engagement zones, with multiple jets launched to counter any perceived threat. Ground conditions remained stable, but the Indian airspace over Jammu and Kashmir was closed to commercial flights, signaling heightened alertness.

The PAF emphasized its readiness, with sources stating, “PAF is alert and prepared to respond to any Indian misadventure.” No confirmed reports of airspace violations or engagements have surfaced, and both sides appear to have remained within their respective territories. This incident follows a history of tense aerial encounters, including the May 2025 clashes where Pakistan claimed to have downed multiple Indian jets during Operation Sindoor, a claim India has not fully confirmed.

The situation remains fluid, with both nations maintaining heightened military vigilance along the LoC. International observers are closely monitoring developments, given the nuclear capabilities of both countries and the potential for escalation in the volatile region.
