Islamabad, Aug 5, 2025: New leaks have surfaced about Sony upcoming console, the PlayStation 6 suggesting it may arrive sooner than expected. A recent report from YouTube channel Moore Law Is Dead claims the next-gen console could be available by late 2027 or early 2028, with production scheduled to begin in mid-2027.

Interestingly, Sony may maintain the same $499 launch price as the PS5, despite significant hardware upgrades. The upcoming PlayStation is expected to deliver a 50% performance boost over the PS5 Pro, offering a powerful gaming experience without a higher price point.

Under the hood, the device could feature a chiplet-based APU using AMD future ‘Navi 5’ technology. It may also include eight Zen 6 or later cores and a GPU with 40 to 48 compute units based on RDNA 5 architecture, powered by a 160W thermal design. This could translate to three times the raster performance of the PS5, with even better ray-tracing capabilities—an area where AMD has made major progress in recent years.

The PS6 is also rumored to support older PS5 and PS4 games, though compatibility with PS3 titles might not be included.

In addition, Sony may launch a new portable device alongside the console—possibly a PSP successor. This handheld could feature a touchscreen, dual microphones, haptic feedback, a microSD slot, M.2 SSD storage, and a USB-C port with video output. Expected to outperform rivals like the ROG Ally X, it may cost between $400–$500.

As always, these details are unconfirmed and subject to change.
