Islamabad, Aug 12, 2025: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has officially suspended the license of IJ Internet Services (Private) Limited for a period of one month or until the company clears its pending payments, following an enforcement directive issued under Section 23 of the Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) Act, 1996.
This decisive action came after IJ Internet Services failed to settle its Annual License Fee (ALF) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022, including the applicable Late Payment Additional Fee (LPAF), despite numerous reminders and official notifications.
According to the PTA’s formal notice, the company was granted a non-exclusive license in August 2014 to provide Data Class Value Added Services and is legally bound to submit audited annual financial statements and pay the ALF within 120 days following the close of the financial year.
PTA’s records reveal that multiple communications—via letters and emails—were dispatched from October 2022 through January 2025, instructing the service provider to fulfill its payment obligations. However, IJ Internet Services remained non-compliant.
After continued non-payment, a Show Cause Notice was issued on January 3, 2024, giving the company seven days to clear its dues and thirty days to submit a written explanation. Furthermore, a hearing was arranged for May 9, 2024, at PTA Headquarters in Islamabad.
Despite these efforts, the company neither responded to the notice nor appeared at the scheduled hearing and failed to provide an updated contact address as mandated by the regulatory framework. Even the final deadline of January 31, 2025, was disregarded.
Consequently, the hearing committee—comprising senior PTA officials—decided to move forward ex-parte based on the evidence on record. The order clearly states that if IJ Internet Services does not comply within the suspension period, their license will be revoked permanently without any further notice.
In addition, all Long Distance International (LDI), Local Loop (LL), Telecommunication Infrastructure Providers (TIP), and mobile network operators have been instructed to discontinue telecom services extended to the company until further instructions.

This strict enforcement underscores the PTA’s commitment to regulatory compliance and ensuring timely payments from all licensees to maintain a healthy telecom ecosystem.
