Islamabad, Aug 12, 2025: Pakistani actress Iqra Aziz is currently facing widespread criticism after her remarks regarding the shocking abuse of a 15-month-old toddler at a daycare center in Noida, India. Her comments sparked outrage as many labeled them “out of touch” and reflective of a “privileged mindset.”
The controversy revolves around a distressing case where surveillance footage surfaced showing a daycare worker reportedly slapping, throwing, and striking a baby with a plastic belt, while verbally threatening the child. Authorities have since arrested the accused and registered a formal complaint under applicable laws. The child’s parents also accused the daycare management of neglecting to stop the assault.
Public Response and Iqra Aziz’s Statement
In response to the incident, Iqra Aziz shared an Instagram story advising parents to avoid sending their children to daycare facilities unless they have a reliable family member to oversee them. She controversially added that parents without such support should reconsider “bringing these little souls into the world.”
This viewpoint provoked a strong backlash online, with many users arguing that Aziz overlooked the hardships of working parents and wrongly implied that childcare issues stem from parental choices rather than criminal negligence.

One social media user commented:
“You’re fortunate to have family support around your child. Many parents don’t have that luxury and must work to provide.”
Another stated:
“The focus should be on condemning the abuser, not blaming parents trying their best. This is a privileged perspective.”

Critics highlighted that Aziz’s remarks did not reflect the economic realities in many societies where dual incomes are necessary for survival.

Moreover, they emphasized that while cases like the Noida abuse are deeply troubling, it is unfair to generalize all daycare centers as unsafe, especially since many families depend on these services.
