Islamabad, Aug 12, 2025: The first Gaming and Animation Centre of Excellence (CEGA), a major Rs. 2.52 billion project by the Ignite National Technology Fund, which is going to transform digital entertainment in the country, has finally got down to business. Given to HUM Networks, the project was launched on August 1, 2025 as a result of a thorough bidding and assessment procedure.
Within a five-year, three-month life, CEGA will strive to be an engine of innovation, skilled development in the industry and industry expansion. The center will provide high-tech equipment, co-working spaces and courses on mastering in high demand creative and technical skills among young professionals.
The gaming industry of Pakistan already earns approximately 170 million USD a year, and the number of professionals working in it exceeds 8 thousand. Together with the annual production of ICT graduates which stands at 30,000, 195 million mobile phone users, 119 million 3G/4G membership and a youthful population that speaks English, this nation is ready to become a magnet to the international investments on this sector.

CEGA project engaged in an elaborate procurement process that began in May 2024 with various technical analyses, financial considerations, and board approvals. Contract was signed on July 15 2025 where HUM Networks was confirmed as the partner. The center will work based on PPRA regulations and, therefore, promote transparency as well as compliance.
Officials at Ignite believe that the Pakistan Gaming and Animation center can enable the country to drive economic growth, increase its creative capacity, and create a sustainable ecosystem so that it becomes a serious player in both local and global markets.
