Islamabad, Aug 12, 2025: The Islamabad district administration has announced that all hiking trails, major parks, and selected tourist attractions in Islamabad will be closed to visitors on Wednesday, August 13. This includes popular outdoor spots and key places that usually attract many people in the capital.

According to the official notice, hiking trails from Trail 2 through Trail 5, along with the path from Saidpur Village, will be shut for the day. Well-known recreational areas such as Lake View Park, Daman-e-Koh, and Shakarparian Park will also be closed to the public.

The closure also covers the Pakistan Monument, a famous tourist site that typically sees large crowds before Independence Day festivities.

Earlier, the Islamabad district administration declared August 13 as a local holiday within the city limits. This holiday will not affect essential services, which will continue to operate as usual. These include the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), Capital Development Authority (CDA), ICT Administration, ICT Police, Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and hospitals.

All relevant departments and ministries have been asked to inform their employees and share the closure details through press and media outlets.
