Islamabad, Aug 13 2025: Since Monday evening, 7pm, large numbers of youthful men and women raced into the green gardens of Sindh Governor House keen to watch Atif Aslam crooning at a special musical night. Organized by the Governor Kamran Tessori, the event became part of a series of celebrations of the Independence Day Maarka-i-Haq being commemorated.
The excitement of the crowd remained unabated despite a delay of three hours and a long speech by the governor. This was due in part to the work of host Faizan Haq, who managed to fill in the crowd with his ventriloquisms albeit in between performances.
As Atif Aslam later appeared on stage with his popular song “Wo Lamhey,” the crowd immediately went electric as fans turned up their mobile phones. He breezed through some of the crowd favourites like “Tu Chahye,” “Tera Honay lagay hun,” and “Dil diyan Gallan“ where he mostly left the audience to sing along.
His performance of the song Jal Pari took the energy up a notch till he stopped in the middle of the song to answer discomfort among women in the packed front rows. There were calls of order, and the show was suspended 20 minutes, in which some of the audience pulled out, before it was resumed.

On the other hand, Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani declared that all was set to go ahead with the mega concert on Wednesday at the National Stadium. Its sitting capacity of a little above 27,000 persons means over 200, 000 people have booked free passes. The entry will start first come first serve at 6pm with the backing of shuttle services to parking points around. Rangers, police and plain-clothes will provide security.
Political leaders, diplomats, sports personalities and all the general public have been invited to make it clear that the event is to celebrate Independence of Pakistan by all the people. Atif Aslam once again promises to be a leading attraction, as thousands of people will come out to celebrate.
