Islamabad, Aug 13 2025: Dewald Brevis smashed a record 125 off 56 balls as South African sensation helped visitors keep the series alive in an important 53-run win over Australia in Darwin on Tuesday. Taking to bowl first, Australia regretted their decision as South Africa reached 218-7 with much of the credit going to Brevis scoring his first international century.
The 22 year old who had already set the national T20 record of 162 hit 12 fours and eight sixes, 66 runs in ‘v’ and saved his team after delivering it in 57-3. Brevis also had driven a 126-run partnership with Tristan Stubbs, and owned the innings.
The Australian pursuit was setback at the beginning, with the openers, Travis Head (5) and Cameron Green (9) being dismissed inexpensively. In-form Tim David attempted to base the innings with big hits, blasting boundaries and colossal sixes but was caught by Kagiso Rabada on 50 off 24 balls.

The Australian batting line up later imploded to 165 all out in 18 th over, with Corbin Bosch and Kwena Maphaka getting 3 wickets each.
