Islamabad, Aug 13, 2025: The Balochistan government has announced a complete ban on the night time travel of public transport across the province. From now on, buses, vans, and other passenger vehicles will not be allowed to operate on highways between 5 pm and 5 am.
Authorities warned that companies violating the rule will have their route permits cancelled.
The decision was finalized in a meeting chaired by Provincial Transport Secretary Muhammad Hayat Kakar, attended by representatives of transport operators. The meeting reaffirmed the Home Department’s directive restricting night travel on all provincial highways.

Mr. Kakar confirmed that deputy commissioners in every district have been instructed to take strict measures to stop public transport from operating at night.
Transport companies have also been ordered to install vehicle trackers, post security guards, and fully follow the government’s anti-smuggling initiatives.
