Islamabad, Aug 13, 2025: Kuwait has officially removed the minimum income condition for residents applying for a Kuwait family visit visa, marking a significant shift in the country’s entry policies. The move, aimed at encouraging openness and strengthening social ties, means foreign residents can now invite relatives without meeting a fixed salary threshold.

Col. Abdulaziz Al Kandari from the General Residency Department’s Electronic Services Administration confirmed that the long-standing income barrier for sponsoring family members has been abolished. Under the updated policy, any legal resident in Kuwait—regardless of earnings—can bring family members to visit.

The reforms also expand the scope of eligible visitors, now including relatives up to the fourth degree of kinship and in-laws up to the third degree, far beyond just immediate family. Additionally, the previous rule requiring visitors to arrive solely on Kuwait’s national airline has been scrapped. Acting Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al Yousuf ordered the restriction removed, allowing entry via land, sea, or air using any airline.
