Islamabad, Aug 15, 2025: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced a cash transaction limit of Rs 200,000 for retail outlets and e-commerce Cash on Delivery (CoD) orders across Pakistan. This move aligns with the government’s ongoing push toward a cashless economy, ensuring smoother financial monitoring and compliance.

As per Circular No. 02 of 2025-26 (Income Tax) issued on Friday, the income tax authorities clarified that the same cash payment restriction applied to retail shops will now also cover e-commerce CoD transactions. The measure is designed under Section 21(s) of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, reinforcing standardized limits for all cash dealings.
