Islamabad, Aug 15, 2025: Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved Rs. 96 billion for diverse development projects, including the preservation and renovation of religious sites. The approval came during the 19th PDWP meeting chaired by Dr. Naeem Rauf, Chairman of the Planning and Development Board.
From the total budget, Rs. 1.5 billion will be dedicated to safeguarding and restoring gurdwaras, churches, and temples. Another Rs. 22.47 billion has been sanctioned to upgrade sewage networks and improve floodwater drainage in Khanewal, Kamonki, Vehari, and Wazirabad.
The largest share—Rs. 72 billion—will go toward building model villages in Lahore, D.G. Khan, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, Multan, Gujranwala, and Sahiwal. These model villages are designed to improve urban facilities and uplift living standards in targeted areas.

Secretary of the PND Board, Rafaqat Ali, along with senior officials, assessed and approved the proposals, emphasizing efficient implementation to meet project timelines.
