Islamabad 15 August: Authorities have ordered mass evacuations in Bajaur tribal district for anti-terror operations and ordered residents of several towns and villages to evacuate ahead of a targeted operation against terrorists, officials confirmed.

According to a statement issued by the district administration, residents of Malangi, Sparay, Dawowgai, Mena Sulaimankhel, Khwarchai, Chamyar Jowar, Zagai, Gat, Agra, Ghundai, Zarray, Nakhtar, Mulla Kalay, Bakro, Gwati, Chamyalo, Lar Kulan, Bar Kulan, Ghanam Shah, Chotra, Dammadola, Sultan Baig, Inam Khwaro, and Anga have been instructed to vacate their homes by 10 a.m. on August 16, 2025.

Officials said the displacement is temporary and aimed at ensuring civilian safety during the planned security operation. Transport has been arranged to move residents to the Sports Complex Camp and other government facilities, while those unable to use government vehicles have been advised to arrange private transport. Evacuees will receive transport, sustenance, and return grants.

The administration urged public cooperation to ensure a smooth and safe evacuation, stressing that the operation’s success depends on timely compliance.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) estimates that up to 56,000 families could be displaced during the operation. So far, over 24,000 families have already relocated, with around 2,000 currently housed in government buildings and temporary relief camps.

An additional 22,000 families are staying with relatives, the PDMA said. In response to the humanitarian needs, the provincial government has allocated Rs1.9 billion for relief and rehabilitation of the displaced population.
