The upcoming Oppo Find X9 Ultra is expected to debut with a brand-new 200MP main camera, according to fresh leaks.
Well-known Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed that the flagship phone will use Sony in-development 200MP sensor, which comes with a 1/1.1-inch type size slightly smaller than the 1-inch sensors but still among the largest on the market.
Key Highlights
- Sony 200MP sensor likely to power Oppo Find X9 Ultra’s main camera.
- Sensor size: 1/1.1-inch type, close to the industry’s 1-inch mark.
- Samsung may also use the same sensor in the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
- Oppo Find X9 Ultra expected to launch after Chinese New Year 2025, possibly in March.
Competition with Samsung
Interestingly, the same sensor is rumored to appear in Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra. If both reports are accurate, the two flagship models will be positioned against each other with identical camera hardware. However:
- Oppo may keep the Find X9 Ultra exclusive to China.
- Samsung has only a small market share in China, which means the two brands may not directly clash in most markets.
