Dera Ismail Khan, August 17, 2025: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has imposed restrictions on residents’ travel to popular tourist spots and other districts due to rising monsoon floods. This decision comes after a weather advisory issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, warning of heavy rainfall and potential flooding from August 17 onwards.
Under the new order, the following restrictions have been enforced:
- Swimming and bathing in rivers, streams, canals, and nullahs is strictly prohibited.
 - Boating activities in the Indus River are banned.
 - Visits to picnic spots along rivers and other flood-prone areas are restricted.

The Deputy Commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan, Abdul Nasir Khan, emphasized that these measures aim to protect human lives, particularly youth, from drowning and other water-related hazards heightened during the monsoon season.
The restrictions will remain in effect from August 17 to September 5, 2025, unless modified or lifted. Individuals violating the order may face punishment under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Authorities have been instructed to publicize the order widely through government gazettes, electronic media, and print publications to ensure maximum compliance.
