In a swift and compassionate response to the catastrophic floods that have ravaged Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Saudi Arabia has mobilized substantial humanitarian aid to assist the affected communities.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has distributed over 2,600 food baskets, benefiting more than 16,000 individuals across the province. These provisions are part of the 2025 Food Security Support Project, aimed at alleviating the immediate nutritional needs of flood survivors .
In addition to food assistance, KSrelief has provided 460 winter bags to residents in Upper Chitral, ensuring that displaced families have access to essential warmth during the colder months .
Lt. Gen. Inam Haider, chairman of Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), noted that changing weather patterns linked to climate change have worsened the situation. Since the monsoon season began in June, the country has experienced a 50 percent increase in rainfall compared to the same period last year, he added.
Saudi Arabia’s messages of support reflect the strong diplomatic ties and humanitarian concern for Pakistan flood victims, highlighting the urgent need for international cooperation to aid recovery efforts.
