The Lahore government has decided to turn Old Anarkali, New Anarkali, Nila Gumbad, and Bakshi Market into pedestrian zones to ease public movement. From now on, only foot traffic will be allowed in these markets, while the entry of vehicles will be banned.

Authorities explained that the move aims to reduce traffic jams in these crowded commercial areas where both traders and shoppers often struggled. Women and pedestrians, in particular, faced serious challenges due to the heavy flow of vehicles.
